Britain's biggest, most modern aircraft carrier to sail in South China Sea

After Chinese ships swarmed West Philippine Sea areas, the United Kingdom's biggest and most modern aircraft carrier will pass through the South China Sea, according to a report over "State of the Nation" on Monday.

HMS Queen Elizabeth carries 18 British-American F35 fighter jets, 1,700 crew and 250 American marines.

British aircraft carrier will join military exercises along with six Royal Navy ships, a Royal Navy Submarine, a Destroyer from America, and a frigate from Dutch Navy.

Strike groups from other countries, such as Malaysia and Singapore will also be included in the said military drills.

Before this, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the objective of the UK is to show China that it adheres to the international law of the sea.

Meanwhile, Security analyst Professor Rommel Banlaoi pointed out the aircraft tour is Britain's way to show its military capabilities in case the need for military eventualities arise in the South China Sea.—Consuelo Marquez/LDF, GMA News
