Belying Imee's claim, Sara admits politics discussed during Marcoses' visit

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has admitted that she talked politics with former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Senator Imee Marcos when the siblings visited her on her birthday.

According to a report on "24 Oras," the daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte said it should be expected that politics would be discussed when politicians get together.

Sara did not give details.

Her version ran counter to what Imee claimed that there was no politics discussed.

The senator said she and her brother only greeted Sara on her birthday in Davao City.

Lawyer Vic Rodriguez, Bongbong's spokesman, said the meeting was "purely a social call" and "no politics was discussed."

Bongbong has revealed that he would run in the 2022 elections but there was no mention of the position he would be seeking.

In the 2016 elections, Bongbong ran for vice president but lost to Leni Robredo.

Sara has said that she is not running for president and even asked supporters not to start any campaign.

President Rodrigo Duterte also maintained that his daughter would not vie for the presidential post.

The national council of the ruling PDP-Laban has passed a resolution urging the President to run for vice president.
