PNP: 119 more cops sick with COVID-19

The number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases within the Philippine National Police (PNP) rose to 24,950 on Monday with 119 more employees testing positive for the illness.

Latest data from the PNP showed that total recoveries climbed to 23,069 after 102 additional police officers defeated the viral disease.

The death toll also increased to 69 with one new fatality.

So far, there are 1,812 active COVID-19 cases within the police organization.

Nationwide, cases of COVID-19 reached 1,276,004 with with 1,195,181 recoveries and 21,969 deaths.

Data from the DOH showed that 56% of the country’s intensive care unit beds are utilized, while 36% of the mechanical ventilators are also in use.

In Metro Manila, 49% of the ICU beds are in use, while 33% of the ventilators are utilized.—Ma. Angelica Garcia/LDF, GMA News
