Alan Peter Cayetano says Duterte should not run for vice president in Eleksyon 2022

President Rodrigo Duterte should not run for vice president in Eleksyon 2022, his running mate in 2016 Taguig Representative Alan Peter Cayetano said on Monday.

Cayetano made the remark after the national council of the ruling PDP-Laban passed a resolution calling on Duterte to run for vice president.

"Sasabihin ko sa kanya, boss, isa ka sa naging pinaka magaling na presidente, baka tamaan pa ‘yung legacy mo," Cayetano said.

"At you know, marami pang issues, alam mo kahit sinong susunod na presidente, kahit si Leni, magtatanong sa’yo yan, so just be the elder statesman," he added.

[There are many issues and whoever the next president will be, even if it will be Leni Robredo, he or she will consult with you. So just be the elder statesman.]

Cayetano said Duterte's achievements while he was president would be affected if he continued to be involved in the next administration.

"Paano kung yung manalo hindi yung inindorse niyang presidente, e di mag-aaway pa sila," Cayetano said.
