133 more PNP personnel get COVID-19


The number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases within the Philippine National Police (PNP) climbed to 25,319 on Thursday with 133 more employees testing positive for the illness.

Latest data from the PNP showed that total recoveries rose to 23,472 after 112 additional police officers defeated the viral disease.

The death toll, meanwhile, remained at 70.

So far, there are 1,777 active COVID-19 cases within the police organization.

Nationwide, cases of COVID-19 have reached 1,293,687 with 1,214,454 recoveries and 22,312 deaths.

The Department of Health said 57% of the country’s intensive care unit beds are occupied while 36% of the mechanical ventilators are in use.

In the National Capital Region, 49% of the ICU beds are being utilized by patients while 34% of the mechanical ventilators are in use. -MDM, GMA News
