Healthcare workers' heroism during COVID-19 pandemic to be honored in memorial wall

During Monday's Talk to the People Cabinet briefing, Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. reported to President Rodrigo Duterte that he was working on the memorial wall that would honor the heroism of healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic

"As for Your directive, which was issued through our Executive Secretary (Salvador Medialdea), that we will be building a memorial wall for the heroism of our healthcare frontliners, I'm now coordinating with the Defense Secretary (Delfin Lorenzana) and other stakeholders on the design and the location where we can raise the memorial," said Galvez.

Last June 12, during his Independence Day speech in Bulacan's Malolos City, Duterte said that the wall of heroes would be built at the Libingan ng mga Bayani

“At lahat ng mga namatay, mga doctors, mga nurses… will be honored by their name inscribed in that wall. It is now being built, and I’d like to thank the Armed Forces of the Philippines for their pagmalasakit,” he said.
