OCTA: Average COVID-19 daily cases in NCR dropped by 13%

The new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Metro Manila continue to decrease, OCTA Research said Wednesday.

In its latest report, the research team said the National Capital Region recorded an average of 829 cases per day from June 9 to 15, which is a 13% decrease from the previous week.

It said it corresponds to an average daily attack rate (ADAR) of six per 100,000, which puts Metro Manila under a moderate risk classification.

The reproduction number in NCR over the same period was 0.69, it added.

“The NCR had a positivity rate of 8%, with a 35% hospital bed occupancy, 46% ICU bed occupancy, and 33% mechanical ventilator occupancy, all are within safe levels,” OCTA Research said.

It further said that all local government units in Metro Manila are now classified as moderate risk noting that Navotas had the lowest ADAR followed by Marikina, Caloocan, and Malabon.

Meanwhile, Pateros had the lowest average new cases.

Metro Manila and Bulacan are under general community quarantine "with some restrictions" from June 16 to June 30, 2021.—AOL, GMA News
