Kris Aquino on Sunday shared a video tribute to her brother, former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, who passed away on June 24.

The video — 4 minutes and 16 seconds long — contained snippets of the former president’s wake, and personal photos of him with Kris and her sons who were known to be very close to their uncle.

The video had a version of Moira dela Torre’s “Paubaya,” which was rewritten as a dedication to Aquino. The original version was released in October 2020.

“We love you and we are so blessed to have had the privilege to have had you as our brother. We’ll miss you forever,” Kris said in her caption to the video.

Aquino — the only son of democracy icons Ninoy and Cory Aquino — died on Thursday, June 24, at the age of 61 due to renal failure secondary to diabetes.

His leadership oversaw the Philippines escaping the “Sick Man of Asia” characterization and pushed the country to an average economic growth of 6.2%

Aquino was buried at the Manila Memorial on Saturday, June 26, at the same site where his parents were laid to rest.

Aside from Kris, Aquino is survived by his sisters Maria Elena or Ballsy, Victoria Elisa or Viel, and Aurora Corazon or Pinky.

Pinky visited his grave on Sunday, June 27, as she said she was missing her brother so much, but decided to instead visit another day when the crowds have died down, as mourners continued to pay their respects.

“Sa lahat ng mga dumadalaw, maraming maraming salamat po. Sobrang biglaan ng nangyari and nahihirapan kami so sabi ko, ‘yung pagdalaw ninyo, ‘yung laglagay ng yellow ribbons and everything, talagang nakakagaan ng damdamin,” she said.

The sisters in an earlier statement said Aquino did well and accomplished his mission, and he may now rest smiling with their parents. — DVM, GMA News
