4,114 new COVID-19 cases reported, active tally slightly down at 49K

The Philippines on Tuesday documented 4,114 additional infections of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), raising the nation's total caseload to 1,445,832.

This is the lowest number of new COVID-19 cases since June 30, which recorded 4,353 more virus infections. 

In the Department of Health's (DOH) tally, active cases declined to 49,613 from 51,594, which was reported on July 5. However, DOH said nine laboratories failed to submit their data to  the  COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).

Of the number of active cases, the country's health department said 90.8% are mild; 3.9% are asymptomatic; 1.5% are critical; 2.2% are severe; and 1.62% are moderate.

The nation's fatality tally rose to 25,296, with 104 more patients who succumbed to the severe respiratory disease.

Nation's total recovery count reached 1,370,923, including 6,086 new survivors.

DOH continued to modify the country's COVID-19 cases by deleting 28 duplicated cases, which included 22 recoveries.

Also, 38 cases previously classified as recoveries were cited as active cases, and 63 recoveries were tagged as fatalities.

As for the country's healthcare facilities, intensive care unit beds were 57% utilized; isolation beds 47% used; ward beds 43% occupied and 36% of mechanical ventilators were used.—LDF, GMA News
