Pacquiao to give cash from personal funds to victims of C-130 plane crash in Sulu

Senator Manny Pacquiao will give money to the loved ones of the soldiers and civilians who died in the C-130 plane crash in Patikul, Sulu on Sunday.

In a statement, Pacquiao said he would also give from his personal funds to those who were hurt in the incident.

The families of those who were killed in the tragedy will receive P50,000 while those who were injured will receive P20,000.

“Bilang tulong sa aking mga kapatid sa Armed Forces of  the Philippines (AFP) at mga sibilyang naging biktima ng  C-130 crash sa Patikul, Sulu, magbibigay ako  mula sa aking personal na pondo ng P50,000 sa bawat pamilya ng mga nasawi  at P20,000 para sa mga sugatan,” Pacquiao said.

[To help our brothers in the AFP and the civilians who were involved in the C-130 crash in Patikul, Sulu, I will shell out from my personal funds P50,000 for every family of the individuals who died in the incident and P20,000 to individuals who were injured.]

“Kasama po ako ng sambayanan sa panalangin para ating mga bayaning nasawi at para sa agarang paggaling ng mga sugatan,” he added.

[I am one with the nation in praying for our heroes who have died in the incident and for the fast recovery of those who were injured.]

On Tuesday afternoon, Armed Forces of the Philippines chief General Cirilito Sobejana said some of the survivors in the deadly C-130 crash in Sulu were still in critical condition.

As of Monday, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said the death toll from the Sulu C-130 plane crash is 52 including 49 soldiers and three civilians . At least 47 servicemen and four civilians were injured.

Lorenzana ordered a full investigation into the incident.

The black box or flight data recorder of the C-130 aircraft has already been recovered.

Sobejana said the conversations in the cockpit can be retrieved from the black box.

On Sunday, a Philippine Air Force C-130 crashed at around 11:30 a.m. when it was about to land in Barangay Bangkal, Patikul in Sulu. —NB, GMA News
