Pinoys hit by COVID-19 overseas rose to 20,910 —DFA

One more Filipino staying abroad was infected with the coronavirus disease, increasing the total tally to 20,910, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Tuesday.

In its latest figures posted on Twitter, DFA said 7,289 active cases were reported among Filipinos overseas.

 

 

The total recoveries among Filipinos abroad reached 12,378, including one more survivor, DFA said.

No new fatalities were reported, maintaining the death toll among Filipinos staying in other countries to 1,243, the data also showed.

Filipinos In the Middle East and Africa reported 11,861 cases of the severe viral ailment. This includes 6,504 recoveries and 836 deaths.

The Asia Pacific Region registered 4,509 infections among Filipinos, including 2,763 recoveries and 33 deaths.

Virus-hit Filipinos in Europe reached 3,554, of which, 2,484 are recoveries while 130 are fatalities.

For Filipinos in the Americas, a total of 986 COVID-19 cases were recorded. Of the figure, 244 patients lost from the disease and 627 survived.—Consuelo Marquez/LDF, GMA News
