Duterte offers nation's ‘love, prayers’ to the families of those killed in Sulu plane crash

Late Tuesday evening, before the start of the weekly Talk to the People Cabinet briefing, President Rodrigo Duterte offered the entire country's condolences to the families of the 53 soldiers and civilians killed in the Sulu C-130 plane crash.

"The Filipino people recognize, and will always remember our soldiers' deep devotion to duty," said Duterte, reading from a prepared statement.

"To their families, please accept the love and prayers of a grateful nation."

Duterte also thanked the civilians of Sulu, "mainly the Tausugs," who assisted  the plane crash victims.

Forty-six people were also injured when an Air Force C-130 transport crashed in Patikul last Sunday. — DVM, GMA News
