Trillanes: With COA documents, Duterte can’t fool people on P6.6-B plunder issue

President Rodrigo Duterte will not get away with the alleged P6.6 billion plunder he supposedly committed as the Commission on Audit documents can show that several contracts were given to the family of Senator Bong Go, former senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV said Wednesday.

“Hindi kayang daanin sa palusot o bola ang kasong ito. Maliwanag ang mga dokumento from COA na binigyan ni Duterte ang pamilya ni Bong Go ng 184 projects amounting to P6.6 billion pesos. Plunder 'yan. Bistadong muli ang pangungurakot nila,” Trillanes said in a statement.

(They cannot just fool people on this case. It is clear from the COA documents that Duterte gave the family of Bong Go 184 projects amounting to P6.6 billion. That is plunder.)

This was his response to President Rodrigo Duterte who said, in his late Tuesday night address, that Trillanes and Senator Manny Pacquiao only wanted to hold power because they have seen an opportunity for themselves.

Last Monday, Trillanes, a staunch critic of Duterte, accused the President and his long-time ally, Go, of committing plunder amounting to around P6.6 billion over government contracts won by the construction firm owned by the senator’s father.

Sought for comment, Go told GMA News Online that he will no longer issue one.
