Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte on Wednesday again warned the public of individuals claiming to soliciting funds for her possible presidential bid in Eleksyon 2022.

In a statement, Sara warned the public of individuals conducting the following:

1. Government employees or private individuals asking contractors or businessmen to give money as contributions.

2. Individuals claiming to be in charge of fund-raising and requesting money from contractors or businessmen to be given through them.

3. Individuals pretending to be employees of the City Government of Davao calling contractors and businessmen for money contributions.

She clarified that there were no fund-raising activities or campaigns for money solicitation that her camp launched.

“All these activities are unauthorized and without my permission,” the presidential daughter said.

Sara urged the public not to give money or donations to these individuals and report these activities to davaocitymayor@gmail.com or the National Bureau of Investigation and Davao City Police Office.

In January, Sara has already warned the public of these campaigns that use her name to gather funds.

Hers was one of the names being floated as a possible presidential bet in the upcoming polls.

In a previous interview, the presidential daughter said it was too early to decide whether she will run for president or not.

Sara has been leading pre-election polls on possible presidential bets done by Pulse Asia despite her father’s constant statements, discouraging her to run for the country’s top post.

Recently, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said that her father President Rodrigo Duterte wanted Sara to run for president in 2022.

“Sinabi niya, gusto niyang tumakbo si Mayor Sara pero ayaw ni Mayor Sara (He said he wants Sara to run but she does not want to),” Roque said.

This, however, was denied by Sara, saying her father must be telling Roque something else. —NB, GMA News
