132K government-bought Sputnik V vaccine doses arrive at NAIA


A total of 132,200 doses of the Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine bought by the Philippine government arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Friday night.

According to GMA reporter Mai Bermudez, Qatar Airways Flight QR928 bearing the vaccines landed at NAIA Terminal 3 at around 10:50 p.m.

 

 

Of this, over 82,000 doses will be administered for the first dose while 50,000 will be allocated for the second dose.

The National Task Force Against COVID-19 said 170,000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine were initially scheduled to arrive on Wednesday night but were delayed due to “logistics.”

The Philippines received its first batch of 15,000 Sputnik V vaccine doses on May 1, followed by another 15,000 on May 12, and then 50,000 doses on May 30.

On June 11, the Philippines received 100,000 doses of Sputnik V vaccines.

Meanwhile, the Philippines has reported a total of 1,461,455 COVID-19 cases, of which 1,383,833 have recovered and 25,720 have died.

A total of 9,493,839 individuals have been vaccinated against the illness. Of this number, 3,209,242 have received their second dose. —Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF/KG, GMA News
