NGCP: Luzon Grid under Yellow Alert status on Tuesday

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) placed the Luzon Grid under Yellow Alert status on Tuesday morning and afternoon.

In an advisory, the NGCP said the Luzon Grid will be placed under Yellow Alert from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

A yellow alert indicates that the grid has thin reserves, based on the supply and demand.

Available capacity is at 11,067 megawatts while the operating requirement is at 10,924MW, resulting in an operating margin deficiency of143MW.

"Four plants are on unplanned outage and three plants have derated capacities, for a total of 1,522MW unavailable energy," the NGCP said. —KBK, GMA News
