The Department of the Interior and the Local Government (DILG) has been receiving reports on alleged mass gathering organized by politicians amid the pandemic, its official said on Tuesday.

At the Laging Handa public briefing, DILG Undersecretary Epimaco Densing III warned politicians against holding assemblies and meetings.

“Magiging mahigpit po tayo sa mass gathering. I do understand na meron kaming nare-receive na report na nagma-mass gathering o nagsisimula na po 'yung mga pa-meeting ng mga pulitiko,” he said.

Densing warned politicians that these meetings may result in a superspreader event.

“Sana po 'yung mga politiko mag-dalawang isip muna at huwag munang ituloy itong pa-meeting (I hope politicians would reconsider and postpone these meetings for the meantime),” he said.
