Roque: Duterte-Duterte is good for the Philippines in Eleksyon 2022

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said Wednesday the tandem of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte and her father, President Rodrigo Duterte as presidential and vice presidential candidates for 2022 is good for the country.

Roque made the response when asked about former Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario's comments that Filipinos should vote for candidates who are good for the Philippines and not those good for China.

"Baka nangangampanya po siya ng Duterte-Duterte," Roque said in an Unang Balita interview.

(He must be campaigning for Duterte-Duterte.)

Del Rosario, citing sources, earlier claimed that the Chinese government has bragged about helping Duterte win the 2016 polls and the Philippine Embassy in Beijing will be able to confirm his claim.

This earned the ire of Duterte, prompting the President to threaten del Rosario with charges.

The Palace has yet to respond what would be the nature of these charges and when these will be filed.
