A convenor of opposition coalition 1Sambayan on Monday was dismayed over President Rodrigo Duterte's final State of the Nation Address (SONA) after the Chief Executive continued to disregard human rights.

Duterte used his final SONA, which lasted for more than two hours, to tout the gains of his administration.

"I am very very disappointed. That's why hindi umaasa na magbabago pa siya. Kasi whether it is local justice, International Criminal Court, whether in words or in deeds," Bro. Armin Luistro said over Sandra Aguinaldo's report on GTV's "State of the Nation."

(That's why I am not expecting him to change.)

"'Yung kanyang kill, kill, kill, wala namang value 'yang human rights. Ang rule of law talagang binasura niya ng lahat yan," Luistro added.

Nonetheless, Luistro, the Education Secretary of the late former President Benigno Aquino III, acknowledged that the Duterte regime pursued the infrastructure projects that began during the Aquino administration.

"Marami namang ribbon cutting here and there mabuti naman at pinagpatuloy yung infrastructure na nagsimula noong previous admin kay PNoy, (It's good that he continued the infrastructure projects that began in the previous admin.)," he said.

In his public address, Duterte also mentioned several projects such as the Skyway Stage 3 public-private partnership project, which he said reduced heavy traffic in EDSA, the country’s busiest highway.
