Over 375k Pfizer doses vs. COVID-19 arrive in Philippines

More than 375,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine from the COVAX Facility arrived in the Philippines Monday night.

According to a report on "Saksi", out of the 375,570 Pfizer doses, 272,610 were delivered to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City.

Meanwhile, 51,480 doses were delivered to Cebu City, and another 51,480 jabs will be allotted to Davao City.

The Pfizer doses arrived in the country on board an Air Hong Kong flight.

Vaccine brands delivered to the Philippines to date include Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson and Johnson, Sinovac, AstraZeneca, and Sputnik V.

A total of 17,202,421 doses have been administered as of July 25, the Department of Health said.

Of this number, 11,113,107 shots were for the first dose while 6,089,314 were for the second dose.

The government started its COVID-19 vaccination program on March 1.

The country has so far recorded 1,555,396 COVID-19 cases with 1,473,009 recoveries and 27,247 deaths. —NB, GMA News
