Govt grants P4,000 cash aid for ECQ areas amid pandemic

Malacañang said Thursday the government will release a cash aid of P1,000 to P4,000 per family in areas under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said this cash aid is under the Department of Social Welfare and Development's Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations.

"Nariyan na po ang assistance na sinabi ng Pangulo (Rodrigo Duterte); dinadownload na po sa LGUs (local government units)," Roque said.

The areas under ECQ from July 16 to August 7 include Iloilo province, Iloilo City, Cagayan de Oro City, and Gingoog City in Misamis Oriental.

"This will be P1,000 per individual, and a maximum of P4,000 per family," Roque added.

The ECQ protocol only allows essential travel and essential services such as food and medicine to operate.—AOL, GMA News
