PNP reports 195 new COVID-19 cases

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday reported 195 new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections, bringing the total to 30,335 within the police organization.

According to the PNP, total recoveries also climbed to 29,164 after 63 more personnel recovered from the illness.

Meanwhile, the death toll remained at 82.

There are 1,088 active cases within the agency.

On Wednesday, at least 51 cops of Police Station 3 in Quezon City who were deployed for the security of the State of the Nation Address on Monday tested positive.

According to the PNP, the commander of the police station has been relieved over the deployment of cops with pending COVID-19 test results.

Meanwhile, the Philippines has logged a total of 1,580,824 confirmed COVID-19 cases, of which 1,491,182 have recovered and 27,722 have died. — Joahna Lei Casilao/RSJ, GMA News
