PNP records 130 new COVID-19 cases bringing total to 30,639

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has recorded a total of 30,639 COVID-19 cases on Monday after 130 new infections were reported.

In an update, the PNP said 1,273 are still active cases while 29,282 have already recovered from the disease.

The death toll due to COVID-19 among the police organization remained at 84.

Around 51 of the infected cops were deployed to secure activities during the SONA Monday last week pending results of their COVID-19 tests. 

The commander of Police Station 3, Lieutenant Colonel Cristine Tabdi, has been relieved over the deployment of these cops.

Out of the 16 police stations and two supporting units of the QCPD, its public information office told GMA News Online that 11 of them have already undergone testing as of Monday.

At least 98 of the 1,260 personnel tested were positive for COVID-19. Only personnel who are contacts of infected patients or with urgent tasks had undergone testing.
