A total of 24,479,750 doses have so far been administered nationwide. In the past week, 1,421 active and reporting vaccination sites administered an average of 516,601 doses per day.

Metro Manila target

In a DOH briefing earlier in the day, Metro Manila Development Authority chief of staff Michael Salalima said 5.37 million individuals in the capital region have received at least one dose and 3.927 million have been fully vaccinated as of August 8.

Salalima said authorities will ramp up COVID-19 vaccination while Metro Manila is under a two-week enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), the strictest lockdown classification.

“More or less, hopefully ma-reach natin around 13 million jabs after this ECQ and with that po, at least almost 50% na po ng ating populasyon dito sa Kalakhang Maynila ay meron na pong first dose at second dose,” he said.
