President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday night suggested that individuals who have yet to be vaccinated should not leave their households.

"'Yong mga tao na walang bakuna, my suggestion is do not go out of the house until there is a facility where you can go to to have your vaccines," Duterte said in his weekly nighttime briefing.

The president said unvaccinated individuals should not go out of their homes until there was a facility where they could get vaccinated.

A week ago, Duterte ordered barangay officials to tell unvaccinated residents to stay home.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez has said that the Philippines’ COVID-19 vaccine supply was short by 46 million doses.

Long queues were reported in various COVID-19 vaccination sites in Metro Manila ahead of the ECQ implementation on August 6.

The Philippines officially rolled out its vaccination program on March 1.

Vaccine brands delivered to the Philippines to date include Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson and Johnson, Sinovac, AstraZeneca, and Sputnik V.

The country has so far inoculated over 11 million individuals. —NB, GMA News
