US CDC advises avoiding travel to Philippines if unvaccinated due to 'high' COVID-19 risk
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Monday advised unvaccinated individuals to avoid nonessential travel to the Philippines and other areas categorized as Level 3 (COVID-19 High).
“Make sure you are fully vaccinated before traveling to these destinations. Unvaccinated travelers should avoid nonessential travel to these destinations,” the US CDC said in an advisory.
Aside from the Philippines, other areas placed under Level 3 are:
- Afghanistan
- Armenia
- Austria
- Azerbaijan
- The Bahamas
- Barbados
- Belarus
- Belgium
- Belize
- Bolivia
- Cambodia
- Cape Verde
- Croatia
- Denmark
- Dominican Republic

Meanwhile, the US CDC advised avoiding travel to areas under Level 4 (COVID-19 Very High).
If travel to these areas is needed, the US CDC says “make sure you are fully vaccinated before travel.”
