DILG: Duterte OK’d over P3.6-B additional budget for cash aid in NCR, Bataan, Laguna

President Rodrigo Duterte has approved a total of P3.693 billion additional budget for the cash assistance program for Metro Manila, Bataan and Laguna, the Department of the Interior and Local Government said Thursday.

DILG spokesperson Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya told GMA News Online that P2.715 billion will be given to Laguna, P700 million to Bataan, and P278 million to Metro Manila.

“The President has approved ECQ Ayuda as follows: P700M—Bataan, P2.715B—Laguna,” he said in a text message.

“Yes, the President also approved an additional P278M for [Metro] Manila as requested by the DILG and NCR LGUs,” he added.

As advised by the Department of Budget and Management, Malaya said the budget will be downloaded to the respective local governments by Thursday or Friday.

Metro Manila, Laguna, and Bataan have been placed under enhanced community quarantine in light of the transmission of the Delta coronavirus variant in the country.

Earlier, the DBM released P10.894 billion to cover the financial assistance of affected individuals and households in the NCR.

The social assistance will be P1,000 per individual or up to P4,000 maximum per household. — RSJ, GMA News
