Gov't allows persons 65 years old and above to personally file COC for Eleksyon 2022 in October

The government COVID-19 task force has allowed persons 65 years old and above to go out of their residences in October to personally file their candidacy for the 2022 local and national elections.

According to presidential spokesperson Harry Roque on Friday, these persons will be considered Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APOR) during the period of filing of certificate of candidacy (COC), which will be from October 1 to 8, 2021.

Citing the decision of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF), Roque said this is "regardless of community quarantine classification and vaccination status."

COCs can be filed in the national office and designated field offices of the Commission on Elections.  —KBK, GMA News
