The number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the country rose to 1,765,675 on Tuesday after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 10,035 new infections as six laboratories failed to submit data on time.

According to the DOH, the relatively low number of cases was due to the low laboratory output on Sunday.

The fresh cases brought the nationwide active tally to 105,787, of which 96.1% are mild, 0.9% are asymptomatic, 1.3% are severe, and 0.7% are in critical condition.

The DOH also announced that total recoveries climbed to 1,629,426 after 10,858 more patients recovered from the illness while 96 new fatalities brought the death toll to 30,462.

A total of 206 duplicate cases were also removed from the total case count.
