FDA clarifies COVID-19 vaccines not toxic to body

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) dispelled on Wednesday the claims that vaccines versus coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) are toxic to the body.

In a radio interview, FDA Director General Eric Domingo said all vaccines are not harmful because they have already undergone Phase 3 clinical trials and secured emergency use authorization (EUA).

"Wala pong katotohanan ang toxicity ng pagbabakuna dahil 'yan ang unang unang tinetest sa Phase 1 pa lamang," Domingo said.

(There is no truth that these vaccines are toxic because clearing toxicity is the first part in the Phase 1 of clinical trials.)

With over 4 billion people globally already receiving COVID-19 jabs, Domingo also stressed that Filipinos are not being used as guinea pigs for vaccination.

"Hindi ito clinical trials, this is a public health measure para matigil ang COVID-19 pandemic," said Domingo.

(This is not part of the clinical trials, this is a public health measure to stop the COVID-19 pandemic.)
