Voter registration hours extended starting Aug. 23, 2021 — Comelec

The voter registration hours will be extended beginning August 23, Monday, to accommodate more applicants amid the pandemic, the Commission on Elections said on Thursday.

According to GMA News Reporter Tina Panganiban Perez's tweet, the Comelec issued an advisory modifying the new registration schedule from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Monday until Friday. Previously, Comelec's voter registration schedule was from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Meanwhile, the poll body also opened voter registration on Saturday and during holidays which will have a schedule of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Despite calls from senators, the Comelec rejected the plea to extend the deadline for voter registration period on September 30, 2021.
