PNP records 234 new COVID-19 cases; total now 34,188

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Saturday said it has recorded 234 new COVID-19 cases, driving up the total number of confirmed infections to 34,188.

Of this number, 1,851 are active cases, according to data from the PNP Health Service.

Total recoveries reached 32,234 after 160 new recoveries were reported.

The death toll meanwhile rose to 103 after one new fatality was recorded.

The country's total number of COVID-19 cases climbed to 1,916,461 on Friday after 17,447 new infections were reported, the Department of Health said.

Active cases numbered 142,531.

Those who recovered totaled 1,741,089, while the number of fatalities reached 32,841. —KG, GMA News
