Cebu City’s coronavirus reproduction number goes down to 1.02 —OCTA
The coronavirus reproduction number of Cebu City has decreased to 1.02, with the weekly growth rate of COVID-19 cases down by 20%, the OCTA Research group said on Sunday.
The reproduction number refers to the number of infections generated by a single case.
“This is in line with our projections (and contrary to what others were saying) that Cebu City has been improving,” OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David said on Twitter.

OCTA’s projection is that Cebu City’s numbers would be on a downward trend by the first week of September.
Meanwhile, in Metro Manila, the number of COVID-19 hospital beds occupied has reached the level last April 2021.
Correction: The number of occupied hospital beds for Covid in the NCR has reached April level (i.e. cross out the word "nearly").
