Philippines' COVID-19 ICU beds 73% utilized —DOH
The Philippines' intensive care unit beds for COVID-19 patients are 73% occupied, according to the Department of Health Tuesday.
Data from the DOH showed that 71% of the total 1,500 ICU beds in Metro Manila are also in use.
The occupancy rate is considered high risk if it is over 70% but less than 85%, while occupancy rate recorded between 60% to 69% is considered moderate.
Meanwhile, 71% of the 14,900 ward beds in the country are utilized, while 74% of the 4,200 total ward beds in the capital region are occupied.
Further, 54% of the country’s 3,200 mechanical ventilators are in use, while 64% of the 1,100 ventilators in Metro Manila are utilized.
The country has so far recorded 1,989,857 COVID-19 cases, including 1,810,847 recoveries and 33,448 deaths.—LDF, GMA News
