3 million more Sinovac vaccine doses arrive in Philippines

The Philippines received on Tuesday an additional 3 million doses of China firm Sinovac's CoronaVac vaccines against COVID-19.

In the livestream of state media PTV, the shipment carrying the COVID-19 jabs arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 this afternoon.

 

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said the newly-arrived vaccines will be deployed in provinces and will be used as second dose in Metro Manila.

"Karamihan ng mapupunta sa delivery sa September basically sa probinsya, sa mga diferent regions," Galvez said at the sidelines of the NAIA Terminal.

(Most of deliveries will be deployed in provinces by September.)

"Sa NCR, mostly binibigay natin dito mga second dose na," he added.

(In Metro Manila, we will allocate it for second dose.)

Galvez said Philippines so far secured more than 27 million vaccines made by Sinovac.

To date, Philippines has administered 33,099,392 vaccine doses. Of the number, 13,784,681 got complete doses of COVID-19 vaccines.—LDF, GMA News
