Philippine National Police chief General Guillermo Eleazar directed police units nationwide to ensure minimum health protocols were observed by those who would troop to the malls for voter registration.

In a statement, Eleazar said chiefs-of-police and other police commanders must ensure that the voter registration does not become a super spreader event amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

(Satellite voters registration areas in malls may be mobbed, especially during the last days of September. So we must be prepared for this because we are still in the middle of a pandemic during which we need to be extra careful.)

The Commission on Elections has worked with various malls nationwide to accommodate more voter applicants for the 2022 polls.
