19 reported dead, 5 missing due to Jolina —NDRRMC

The reported death toll due to Tropical Storm Jolina has climbed to 19 on Tuesday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said.

In its report, the NDRRMC said it confirmed three fatalities, 19 injured, and two missing persons. Meanwhile, it said it is still validating reports on 16 fatalities, five injured, and three missing people.

At least 313,399 individuals or 81,077 families were affected in 1,347 barangays in Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Soccsksargen, and the National Capital Region.

Meanwhile, around 11,212 persons or 2,958 families were staying in 181 evacuation centers, and 18,620  people or 4,575 were taking temporary shelter in the houses of their relatives and friends.

At least 15,790 homes were reported damaged — 15,190 partially, 600 totally — in the Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Western Visayas, and Eastern Visayas Regions due to Jolina.

The NDRRMC said 11 roads and a bridge are still not passable and 159 roads and six bridges that were previously affected are now passable.

Power interruptions were reported in 37 cities and towns. Power was restored in all but one locality.

Water supply problems were encountered in nine cities and towns but four of them were restored.

Eight flights were canceled but later resumed.

At least 54 seaports suspended operations, of which 20 have resumed in Mimaropa and Western Visayas.

The NDRRMC also said 200 passengers, 195 rolling cargoes, and six vessels were stranded in Ilocos, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Western Visayas, Central, Eastern Visayas, Soccsksargen, and Metro Manila.

At least P1,059,263,164 worth of damage in agriculture was reported in Central Luzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Western Visayas, and Eastern Visayas.

For infrastructures, around P63,456,053 worth of damage was reported in Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol and Western Visayas.

At least 313 classes and 311 work schedules were suspended, the NDRRMC said. Around P1,329,189 worth of assistance has been given to affected residents.
