Over 46.5K people affected by Typhoon Kiko —NDRRMC

A total of 46,558 people or 12,096 families were affected by Typhoon Kiko in Luzon areas, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) has reported.

In its situational report on Friday, the NDRRMC said affected individuals were from 186 barangays in Regions 1, 2, 3, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

As of Friday, there were 52 displaced people from 15 families staying in five evacuation centers.

Displaced people outside of evacuation centers were at 204, or 51 families.

Earlier,  6,955 individuals or 2,078 families were pre-emptively evacuated in regions 1 and 2.

Also the NDRRMC reported 27 people were injured due to the typhoon, and no reported deaths among the casualties.

At present, two roads in Region 2 have  remained impassable, and seven in Region 3.

Meanwhile, roads and bridges that have been cleared and are now passable include one in Region 1, six roads and bridges in Region 2, and three roads and bridges in Region 3.

Seven cities or municipalities experienced power interruption or outage, and three of these areas have their electricity back. Meanwhile, water supply in one city is yet to be restored.

Six areas in Region 2 are still experiencing communication outage or issues, while two areas have restored their communication lines.

A total of 93 passengers were stranded in Region 1, Region 2, Region 3, CALABARZON, Region 12, CAR.

Further, the NDRRMC reported a total of 652 damaged houses in Region 2, Region 3 and CAR.

Based on NDRRMC's estimates,  damage to agriculture stood at P37,354,667.52 in Regions 2 and 3.

A total of 866 food packs, 69 Assistance to Individual in Crisis Situation (AICS) and 30 hygiene kits were provided in Region 1, Region 2, CAR, amounting to P789,012. —LBG, GMA News
