Comelec suspends issuance of voter's certification

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Friday said it has suspended the issuance of voter's certification from September 27 to 30, the final week of the voter's registration period.

Registration period for new voters in the 2022 elections will end on September 30, 2021. The Comelec has so far rejected calls for a month-long extension.

Jimenez said extending the voter's registration period for a month, as proposed by some lawmakers, would severely affect their timeline for next year's local and national elections.  —KBK, GMA News
