Vice President Leni Robredo on Friday denied that a presidential contender asked P1 billion from her in exchange for sliding down as running mate in Eleksyon 2022.

"I was informed of a post circulating that, allegedly, a presidential contender asked for P1 billion to agree to run as my Vice President. Wala pong katotohanan ito (This is not true)," Robredo said.

Nakikiusap po tayo na wala sanang magpapakalat ng fake news (The talks I had did not involve monetary consideration. I appeal to parties to stop spreading fake news)," Robredo added.

Robredo said that the truth matters and people should not fall for personal attacks.

The truth is very important, so if we want to be of help, let us not peddle lies)," Robredo added.

Robredo is pushing for a united opposition ticket, a goal that is yet to come to fruition.
