Roque: Duterte vowed justice for death of Bree Jonson

President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered authorities to serve justice to the family of the late Bree Jonson who was found dead in a resort in La Union, the Palace said Monday.

“The President has ordered [the] criminal justice system to accord the victim justice,” presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said.

“Let us let the investigation go unhampered,” Roque added.

At the time of Jonson’s death, she was with Julian Ongpin, son of businessman Bobby Ongpin.

The police later announced that illegal drugs were found in the room rented by Bree and Julian.

Julian, however, was released by the La Union police pending the results of the investigation.

The police and the National Bureau of Investigation are investigating the matter.

Jonson’s remains will be interred this Wednesday, September 29, according to an earlier report on GMA News' Unang Balita on Monday.

A wake is being held in Davao, the same report said. — Llanesca T. Panti/RSJ, GMA News
