Bongbong camp says Colmenares blinded by hate, frustration

The camp of Ferdinand “Bongbong Marcos Jr. on Monday slammed human rights lawyer Neri Colmenares who recently questioned the former senator’s potential presidential bid in the May 2022 elections.

Colmenares earlier described Marcos’ potential Palace run as a step closer to his family’s “ultimate power grab for historical revisionism.”

The former congressman maintained that the Marcoses have been trying to seek elective posts and “creep slowly to the Executive” as part of their plan to erase the history of abuses during Martial Law under the late former President Ferdinand Marcos.

“Those behind this statement are obviously blinded by their hate and frustration to take political powers for themselves,” Marcos’ spokesperson Vic Rodriguez said in a statement when asked to comment on Colmenares’ allegation.

“Hindi na maloloko pa ng komunista o dilaw man ang mulat nang taumbayan,” he said.

Marcos has said he is running for a national position next year, but has yet to provide specifics.
