8 hospitals tapped for pilot vaccination of minors
The pilot vaccination of children with comorbidities aged 12 to 17 years will be conducted at eight hospitals starting October 15, according to GMA reporter Chino Gaston.
The following hospitals were tapped for the pilot vaccination:
- Makati Medical Center
- St. Luke's Hospital
- Philippine Children Medical Center
- National Children's Hospital
- Philippine Heart Center
- Pasig City Children’s Hospital
- Fe Del Mundo Medical Center
- Philippine General Hospital
The Department of Health (DOH) has listed the 11 medical conditions that would make children eligible for vaccination.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire has said children seeking vaccination must get a clearance from their doctors as well as give their consent and assent.
Vergeire advised parents to register through their local government units.

According to Nimfa Ravelo’s report on Super Radyo dzBB, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said children 15 to 17 years old will be vaccinated first.
Should they display no adverse side effects, Galvez said the inoculation program will continue in other areas.
When asked about side effects, Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje said these include anaphylaxis, myocarditis, headache, body ache and allergies, among others.
She assured the public that there are guidelines to treat children experiencing side effects.—Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
