Over 1 million more Philippine-gov't procured Pfizer vaccines arrive


More than one million doses of American firm Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines that were purchased by the national government arrived in the Philippines on Wednesday night.

State media PTV reported that 1,015,560 Pfizer shots arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Of the number, 862,290 doses  were brought to the Pharmaserv Express in Marikina while 76,050 doses already received by Cebu and 77,220 doses will be delivered to Davao.

At the sidelines of the delivery, OPAPP Assistant Secretary Wilben Mayor said in just six days of October, the country received 9 million doses of various COVID-19 vaccines.

On Sunday, the Philippines also received almost two million Pfizer vaccines donated by the US government through the COVAX facility. -- BAP, GMA News
