Broadcaster Rey Langit, DAR chief John Castriciones to run for senator under PDP-Laban

Broadcaster Rey Langit and Agrarian Reform Secretary John Castriciones on Thursday took their oath as members of PDP-Laban as they plan to seek Senate seats in the May 2022 national and local elections.

On Thursday, Atty. Melvin Matibag, the secretary-general of PDP-Laban faction led by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi, shared photos of Langit and Castriciones while taking their oath.

In 2016, Langit ran for senator under the United Nationalist Alliance but lost.

Meanwhile, Castriciones was supposed to run for Senate during the 2019 midterm elections, but he eventually decided to keep his post as secretary of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).

So far, Castriciones has not announced yet his resignation as DAR chief.

In August, Matibag said Castriciones was part of the PDP-Laban’s initial list of senatorial bets. -NB, GMA News
