No Cebu meeting yet between Sara Duterte and Marcos Jr.

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte and presidential aspirant Ferdinand Marcos Jr. were both in Cebu City on Friday but spokespersons of both politicians said no meeting transpired between the two.

“None today,” Sara's spokesperson Liloan, Cebu Mayor Christina Frasco said in a text message when asked if President Rodrigo Duterte's daughter and Marcos met on Friday.

“No, tonight no. But both of them are there,” Marcos' spokesman Rodriguez told GMA News Online when asked the same question.

Asked if Duterte will meet Marcos in Cebu, Frasco said, “I invited Mayor Sara to attend the inauguration of our new Port in Liloan and to attend our League of Municipalities of the Philippines Cebu General Assembly."

"This is her official schedule," she added.

In a Facebook post, Sara announced that she arrived in Cebu City and shared photos of her wearing a green hoodie with the phrase “Sara All 2022.”

“Magandang gabi sa  inyong lahat. Confirmed po ang aking pagbisita sa Cebu. Kausap ko ngayon ang aking pinsan na si Cebu 5th District Board Member Red Duterte. Maraming salamat,” the presidential daughter wrote.

[Good evening to all. My visit to Cebu was confirmed. I am now talking to my cousin Cebu 5th District Board Member Red Duterte. Thank you.]

Cebu Representative Duke Frasco, husband of Christina, also shared photos of Marcos’ arrival in Cebu City in a Facebook post on Friday afternoon.

Lawyer Victor Rodriguez, Marcos’ chief of staff, confirmed that both of them did not hold a meeting on Friday night.

The presidential daughter filed her certificate of candidacy on October 2 for her reelection as Davao City mayor in Eleksyon 2022.

Marcos filed on October 6 his certificate of candidacy for president in next year's elections. -NB, GMA News
