The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Monday warned employees assigned at airports against posting videos of themselves dancing or singing while on duty or in uniform on Tiktok.

According to Immigration port operations chief Carlos Capulon, employees who violate the directive banning such acts will face administrative cases for insubordination and misconduct.

Capulong said Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente ordered him to investigate employees at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport who were continuing to post videos while on duty.

“I was instructed by Commissioner Morente to hold these errant employees liable by forwarding their cases to our board of discipline for investigation and filing of the appropriate administrative cases,” Capulong said in a statement.

He also reminded employees to refrain from using gadgets while on duty.

More in December 2020 banned employees from posting on Tiktok, saying this undermines the reputation of the agency.

“As public servants, employees must proudly wear their uniform at all times, present a professional image to the public and observe proper decorum and good taste in all their actions while they are on duty,” Morente said. — BM, GMA News
