Robredo calls on supporters to help feed the hungry

Vice President and presidential aspirant Leni Robredo on Tuesday called on her supporters to help one another and help feed the hungry.

"Bukas, Miyerkules na naman. Alam na natin ito. Mas mahalaga sa pagsusuot ng pink tuwing Miyerkules: Tumulong sa kapwa," Robredo said.

(Wednesday is coming again, and we know what to do. More than wearing pink, we should help one another)

Robredo's supporters wear pink, her campaign color, every Wednesday to express their support for her 2022 presidential bid.

They also organize charity activities on Wednesdays.

"'Yung iba, nagpapalugaw, nagpapa-fishball, o nag-oorganisa ng mas malalaking inisyatiba. Okey ito. Pero hindi kailangang magastos o magarbo," she added.

(Some provide rice porridge and fishballs, and even initiatives of a larger scale. This is okay, but our contributions need not be big or extravagant)

Robredo said buying extra bread for strangers or volunteering as a tutor for kids could also make a difference.

"We are facing a huge challenge, and that is why we are working on changing the system and social structure by doing our part too. No contribution is too small, every bit of it is important," Robredo said.

"Thank you very much. I am counting on you," Robredo added. — DVM, GMA News
