Eleazar: 89% of PNP personnel fully vaccinated vs COVID-19

Around 89% of Philippine National Police personnel are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, PNP chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar said on Friday.

In a radio interview, Eleazar said 199,362 out of over 223,000 PNP personnel are fully inoculated, while over 21,000 or 10% are still waiting for their second dose.

“With our more than 223,000, pati na rin yung mga (including) non-uniformed personnel, 89% are fully vaccinated, that is 199,362,” he said.

Eleazar added that around 1% of PNP personnel have yet to be vaccinated.

In the National Capital Region Police Office, Eleazar said that 98% of its personnel are already fully vaccinated, while the remaining 1% is still waiting for their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Recently, the national government ordered local government units to ramp up their vaccination efforts as it targets to have 70% of the total population fully vaccinated this year.

The vaccination of minors 12 to 17 years old will kick off on November 3 in the National Capital Region while the nationwide implementation will be on November 5. — DVM, GMA News
