By LLANESCA T. PANTI,GMA News

Manila Mayor and presidential aspirant Isko Moreno on Friday courted voters in Quezon City by boasting that his parents never stole money despite being poor.

Baka ma-tanso kayo," Moreno told his campaign volunteers.

Moreno did not drop names, but one of his fellow presidential aspirants, former senator Bongbong Marcos, is the son of the late dictator president Ferdinand Marcos.

The Marcos family is still facing multiple ill-gotten wealth cases pending before the Sandiganbayan.

Moreno, on the other hand, had to pick trash for a living as a kid before making a name as a sexy model and actor.

He studied public administration at the University of the City of Manila and other special courses in UP Diliman, Harvard University, and Saïd Business Schools while serving as a public official in Manila, the nation's capital. He served as city councilor, vice-mayor, and eventually mayor.

Moreno said that due to his background, he always looks after those who have less in life.

"Tao muna, mamamayan muna (I would put the needs of the people first)," he said.

"I am investing my word here. If I will be given a chance, I will pay that back by being an efficient and competent leader who will tide you over this pandemic)," he added.—AOL, GMA News
